‘Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful of your life’. - Mark Twain
Whether it be a Naming Ceremony, a Renewal of Vows or a Wedding for heterosexual couples or same-sex couples, I assure you that I will follow your wishes to help to organise YOUR special day, personal, unique in every way, creating wonderful memories and magic moments.
Although I will guide you seamlessly through the day, it is you who tells me what the ceremony must or must not include. I will take the ideas and enhance them, creating a ceremony which should simply flow. If you have no ideas, do not fear, I have plenty of them and will be happy to suggest some which seem appropriate for you and the occasion.
How it works
After the initial email or telephone contact, we will meet face to fact at a convenient location for us both with a relaxed chat over a cuppa. The first meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to decide whether I am the right person for the occasion, and vice versa. Nothing needs to be signed or set in concrete.
I will then send you a booking form to be completed and a simple questionnaire which can help me to plan the written component of your special occasion. Don’t worry, if you can’t find the answers to any of the questions, we will discuss these at the next meeting. You may, of course, prefer to write your own ceremony, and this is absolutely fine too.
Once you have booked and paid a deposit, I will send you some helpful information which for might include ideas for Vows, Readings, popular songs, different types of rituals, etc. This will assist you in formulating your ideas prior to the second, more detailed meeting. Naming ceremonies and renewal of vows may be less detailed, but nevertheless may have readings, songs, poetry, vows. In the case of weddings, I will also outline the legal responsibilities and time frame.
Once you are ready, we will meet again for a more in-depth meeting and go through the questionnaire together and discuss your ideas for the ceremony. I will bring along a ceremony planner to be completed so that I have a better overall picture of your day and what your special needs are to make this a truly memorable day.
With the information I receive at the meeting, I will draw up a draft of the ceremony (unless you are doing the writing) which I will send to you to read through and edit. It is of paramount importance that we get this right for you, so it is not a problem if parts need to be re-written or changed completely.
I definitely recommend a rehearsal for Weddings, preferably at the venue itself, and if possible at the same time as the ceremony will be held, so that we can see any issues arising due to the sun, etc. Not only can we see that everything will flow easily, but it will be much easier for you on the ‘big day’.
On the day, I will arrive about one hour before the ceremony starts to ensure that everything is ready for the event and to support and encourage you, especially if nerves are getting the better of you.
I will slip away discretely after the ceremony and leave you to enjoy the rest of your day with family and friends.
